Preschool Program
We provide Mother Goose Time, utilizing fun & educational materials. Arts & Crafts are also on hand to encourage self expression. Children learn their ABC'S & 123'S, Shapes, Colors, Finger painting, Coloring, Drawing, Puzzles, Writing their names, Animals and the sounds they make. They learn about veggies & fruits and how they grow. The four seasons and weather types. Also learning how to tell time. CIRCLE TIME: Reading stories, music, sing-alongs, dancing and exercise time.
A Typical Day
Free play time upon arrival. Breakfast @ 8am. Clean up from breakfast. More inside play time & watching educational movies/cartoons. In the 10 o'clock hour it is class time. Our projects can last up to 25 min. sometimes longer depending on the child. I let all the children work at their own pace. After class time I allow the children to have outside play (with adult supervision). Around 11:30 am I have the children come inside and get cleaned up for lunch. Lunch is served at noon. Clean up from Lunch and then the children are put down for their nap.
They awake at 3 pm and have circle time & we read a short story & listen to music. At the same time we are doing our exercise. We are also learning Spanish with flash cards. Then the children are served their afternoon snack. I do choose the eldest child to assist me in clean up time. The child learns about cleaning after eating meals. Children enjoy being a "helper". During the remainder of the day, we get the childrens things ready to go home. And they also have a choice of free time or starting a new curriculum. And we discuss their day and ask them what they enjoyed most about it.
About the Provider
My name is Griselda and I was raised here in West Sacramento, California. I am a middle child and grew up with 8 brothers and sisters. My husband and I have two loving dogs named SHAQ & KOBE. I am currently attending Sacramento City College working on my AA. I am CPR & First Aid Certified... and we are proud to be a non-smoking home!!!
About Our Daycare
We are a State Licensed, large home daycare. We provide a fun & loving environment, non-smoking home. We have a good sized back yard with a sandbox, redwood jungle gym (slide & three swings)...and tons of play toys, riding toys and learning tools.
We celebrate all major holidays & children’s birthdays. Pooh’s Family Daycare is enrolled with “Quality Child Care Food Program” which is state funded
We provide USDA meals and provide care to a very small group of children ages two months to five years old. Toilet training is available-- when your child is ready, we will work together.
